Funeral Expenses for Ron Dillard
Instead of flowers you can contribute to this GoFundMe. Funeral expenses have been paid so there is no desperate need. However, they are highly appreciated for a number of reasons, including processing old home movies.
My father Ron Dillard passed away on August 20th, 2021. He battled liver disease and liver cancer for many years. He had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and terminal kidney disease.
He was extremely active in the Dallas, Texas area for video production and editing in the 70s, 80s, 90s until 2011. Likely you saw a video or commercial he edited or filmed. He animated for the film vault - the rat creature. He built the iconic terminator for the Rodney D Young commercials. He worked at K&H, On Video and U Edit.
He made so many families happy with his film transfers of their home videos and collages of their photos and videos made. At some points he had customers coming from 200 miles away for his services. When they asked how much, he would just say "how much cash you got on you?"
Ron was always behind a camera, filming, even until recently. He was always a man that everyone maintained friendships with. We are working hard to find photos of the man behind the camera so please let us know if you have any great pictures of him.
Ron had been retired for 7 years and became the cat man. He tamed and helped rehome many feral cats of our neighborhood, sometimes rehoming them in his house. He never met an animal he didn't like, and he lived his former dog Buddy like a son and former dog Missy with his whole heart. The family's current dog, Jasmine, is 17 years young and enjoyed a lot of her life on walks with him.
He was very active in the Amiga computing community for many years, another service people traveled extensive distances for his expertise. He even had another project on his work bench right up until the end that we have to figure out what he was missing on it now. He was always tinkering with some electronics.
I really don't have a set amount to ask for, but the amount asked for would help with the funeral home and medical bills.
