Funeral Expenses for Samantha Paige Wright

My phone rang at 7:00 this morning. My friend Joyce informed me that her baby was gone. I immediately felt helpless and needed a way to, in some way, help my longtime high school friend with this life-changing news.

Sam had a vegetation growth on her heart that appeared about two years ago. She was in the hospital awaiting open heart surgery but septic shock and pneumonia caused a delay because her body would have been too weak to recover from the surgery.

On the night of September 9th, my friend Joyce said a final "Goodnight... I love you...." to her 25 year-old daughter. In the early hours of September 10th, it is believed that Sam had a pulmonary embolism that caused respiratory failure. The team was able to bring her back twice but her heart just wasn't strong enough for her final battle.

Sam was in New Hanover Regional Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Joyce has made arrangements for her baby girl to be put to rest in the family cemetery in Princeton, WV. With no life or health insurance, the high cost of the transportation, arrangements and funeral cost has put a financial strain on this devastated family.
