Funeral Expenses for the Coetzer Family
Donation protected
This past week on November 5th we lost a friend, teammate, brother, mentor, and family member. Wian Coetzer was one of a kind – honest, caring, and kindhearted; a truly special friend whom we were privileged to know. Words will never do justice to the kind of person that Wian was and we are desolate at his loss. He never hesitated to go the extra mile for others and now we are hoping to do the same for him and for his family.
Wian was born in Pretoria, South Africa and formerly of Hillsborough before moving to Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2015. Wian was a 2014 graduate of Hillsborough High School and then continued his education at Virginia Tech earning a degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2019. He was employed by the United States Navy as an engineer in Virginia. He played lacrosse all four years at Virginia Tech and was a captain and president of the Lacrosse Team. He was also an active member of the G.E.R.M.A.N. Club. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his parents Louis and Maria Coetzer, sisters Lisa and Kari Coetzer, and grandparents Willem and Annette Coetzer and Pieter and Terien Brand.
