Funeral Expenses for Wilbert Neal

On the morning of Monday May 10th we unexpectedly lost a Columbus legend.
Wilbert Neal was a beacon of kindness, joy, and all things nerd.

Some of you knew him from his many years working in the Columbus Metropolitan Library System, some of you were fans of his public access television show Vast Wasteland, some of you met him in more recent years at Big Fun where he likely regaled you with trivia facts or silly jokes; regardless of where you encountered him or what comic book hero t-shirt he had on that day you probably walked away with a smile or a chuckle because thats just what Wilbert did. He was a light. He is already missed tremendously.

This fundraiser is to cover the funeral expenses to send him off properly...well, as properly as we can without launching him into outer space like Spock or encasing him in carbonate like Han Solo...tho yes I know Solo wasn't technically dead and Wilbert would have had a top 5 list of epic movie funerals with full explanations of what made them  great, but the point is that help is needed to send him off with atleast the same level of care and respect that he carried (along with a bottle of hot sauce) every place he went.

I was lucky enough to grow up with Wilbert as my stepdad. I was 3 when he came into my life and for much of it he was the only dad I knew. He was always respectful and kind and loved me unconditionally. In the past few years our relationship grew stronger as we spent more & more time talking and leaning on one another for support.

He was one of my favorite people and I don't know yet where or how to set down the emptiness his absence leaves me with.

The loss was sudden and not prepared for  aside from previously purchasing a burial plot.

These funds are covering the burial, service, and care/transportation of his body and all costs associated with settling his affairs.
