Funeral expenses in memory of James Roach

Hello everyone. My name is Maria, and on February 1, 2024, at 9:41pm our family lost a father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, and friend to many, James Roach.

James had suffered an unexpected stroke back in November of 2023, which led to lots of hospitalization, and rehabilitation in different care facilities. During his time in one of these facilities, he unfortunately contracted RSV which later turned into pneumonia. He was rushed to the emergency room and had to undergo emergency surgery to drain over a liter of fluid that was surrounding his heart. During this surgery, his left lung was punctured, which ultimately caused his downfall. This turned into a collapsed lung, and immediately called for a breathing tube to be placed directly into his lungs. For 2 weeks, he had to withstand being hooked up to multiple different machines, including being intubated. At the end, the breathing tube and machines were taken out to see if he could breathe on his own. He was unfortunately not able to, but was made comfortable and relaxed, while surrounded by family and loved ones.

James was a retired Airforce technician with the 107th Attack Wing, Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. He served during Vietnam, Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Bosnia. He was a member of the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged after 26 years of service to his country.

At this time, our family needs help to be able to give him the proper burial that he wanted and deserved. He had no life insurance policy, and no death benefits in place to be able to assist with this. He was the type of person who would help anyone, and would give his last dollar if he could. Many times he did exactly this, and now it's our turn to return the favor, and do right by him. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, even the smallest amount.
