Funeral for Alves Stephens

Many may know this man as Alves or Papi Bear – but he was also a dad. He grew up in Jamaica and immigrated, along with his family, to the United States. He truly believed in this country as being the land of opportunity, and he was determined to ensure his children made the best of it. He nurtured three beautiful kids and they always made him beam with pride. Alves’ sense of humor, infectious storytelling and smile, and his love for God inspired and enchanted many.  Though he had many shortcomings, he was fully aware of the number of individuals that looked up to him – and because of that, he always seemed to find his way back to the right path. Alves was violently and tragically taken from us on July 7th – but his memories live on within the lives that he touched. It is our duty as his family to ensure he goes home respectfully, and we would truly be grateful for your help. God bless you and your loved ones and we hope you’ll find the generosity to help us.
