Funeral for Doua Lor Vang
Donation protected
UPDATE: DECEMBER 13, 2022
Firstly, we would like to thank all donors for their contributions, big or small, over the past six months. Doua and Stacy were able to focus on the cancer treatment, spent quality time with family and friends, and made invaluable memories together.
After the 7th round of chemotherapy, Doua was diagnosed with pneumonia on October 20, 2022, and began receiving antibiotic treatment. Doua never made it to his 8th round of chemo. Doua took his last breath on November 27, 2022, at the Hospice of the Valley in Tempe, AZ. Doua’s funeral service will be held at the Faith Community Religious Facility in Fresno, CA, on December 25-26, and he will be buried at the Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA, on December 27, 2022.

Hello everyone,
My name is Mai Chee Lor and I am the sister of Doua Lor/Vang. With very heartbreaking news, we want to let extended families and friends of Doua Lor/Vang know he has been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer on May 23, 2022. Being his mother’s oldest son, Doua has always taken the utmost responsibility to provide for his mom, siblings, wife, and two kids. Doua is an astounding figure not only for the Vang family but also in the Hmong Community. Many may know him as a mej koob, an influential speaker, or an excellent voice for counseling, but he is more than that. He is also our beloved son, brother, uncle, and father. Doua is someone that you can depend on to go the extra mile. His insatiable desire to help others made him happy and kept him going.
Doua is currently going through chemotherapy in Phoenix, Arizona, and we hope this treatment can help Doua become stronger. The Vang family is asking for financial help. No matter how big or how little, any help from you is greatly treasured and appreciated. The funds raised will help with Doua’s unforeseen medical costs and his long-term support. As we all know, insurance does not cover 100% of the patient's bills. There are co-pays for treatments and medications, bills from the multiple emergency visits before his hospitalization, and general expenses while being in the hospital. Some of the funds will also go towards Doua's home expenses (mortgage, electricity, gas, food, auto insurance, child care, etc.) as he and his wife, Stacy Xiong, will not be working at this time to focus on Doua's treatment. All donations will go directly to Stacy to ensure their bills and expenses are taken care of so Doua can focus on his recovery.
The Vang family asks you all to keep Doua in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement for Doua. Doua has been informed of your wishes for a speedy recovery.
With love,
Doua and Family
