Funeral for Gilbert Kabura

Dear friend or family member,

I am writing to you today to let you know about the passing of my brother Gilbert. He was 1 of 5 brothers and 1 of 8 kids in the Alphonse family. Gilbert suddenly took his last breath on Saturday Oct 23 at 9:50 pm at Cleveland Clinic Hospital. He suffered a severe kidney disease when he was two years old and was unable to walk since, but he made strolling in a wheelchair look so fun and enjoyable. He contracted COVID and it enhanced his kidney complications, he was sent into cardiac arrest for 45 minutes and was without oxygen in his brain. The doctors informed us, there was no brain activity. Thankfully we were able to visit him in the hospital, on Saturday night we were able to visit him. My husband and I were there holding his hand and accepting what was happening. Glory to God the most high for hearing our prayers and welcoming him home.

Gilbert was the joy that all of us needed in this world. It was undeniable that he lit up the room no matter where he was with his smile and spirit. The picture that you see right now is from his 8th grade promotion. He loved school very much. His favorite subject was math. Three years ago on thanksgiving Gilbert was asked what he was thankful for, he said “I am thankful for my teachers”. What a sweet boy. Gilbert was a big brother to 2 and a younger brother to 5 and he played great roles to each. He loved his mom and dad with so much respect. He walked with great faith in God. There is no doubt that he is in heaven (home) right now.

My family and I are absolutely devastated by Gilbert’s home going. We are struggling to find funds to cover the cost of the funeral services. Based on the quotes that we have received from the funeral home we ask you to consider supporting us in giving my brother the perfect celebration that he deserves. We will need to pay all funeral costs by November 3rd 2021.
