Funeral for Jamie Platero
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
With heavy hearts we are sad to report that our dear brother Jamie, has passed unexpectedly of natural causes.
Jamie was certainly one of a kind, and his smile would light up a room.
We are so comforted to see so many of his friends and family share their condolences. We especially love reading the stories and seeing photos of him in his element. We all had a unique relationship with him and know that he cared deeply about his friends and family. Jamie was proud to be from such a wonderful community growing up. As a dear family friend wrote: He was Montezuma Creek’s legend personality.
Jamie was also proud to have served his country and call himself a veteran. He wore the United States flag on his sleeve every chance he had, often sewing it on himself. He considered himself a man of God, loved his Lord and Savior, and relied on his faith during difficult times. We will all miss his confidence, the safety we felt around him, and his kind hugs and kisses. I know we’re all better people to have known him.
Jamie is survived by his wife Michelle and children, Violet, Kaileigh and Sam, his parents Mary and Leo Platero and his brothers and sisters, Mario, Ann Marie, LaNova and Clifton.
The funeral service will be held in Albuquerque, and his burial is expected to be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The exact date is pending, but we’re planning on Friday, November 8th. Once we have a confirmed date, we will let you know.
Our hearts are broken by Jamie’s passing. All donations will be used to cover funeral expenses. We are so very grateful for every contribution during this difficult time.
With love,
