Funeral for Koneshwaran
Koneshwaran, a Tamil refugee and a father of three sadly lost tragically after self-immolation in Sunshine on Friday 20 August. He will be missed by everyone who he has helped.
Koneshwaran leaves behind three children, Hari, Thenmoli and Nithya and his wife Shanthini.
Koneshwaran was just 38 years of age. He had everything to live for. In 2018 he was denied protection visa by the immigration department. From this point onwards he was constantly worried about being deported back to danger. He continued to work very hard as a cleaner to take care of his family members. But the psychological suffering he has been put through by the Australian Government's cruel, inhumane policies pushed him to the point where he believed he no longer had anything to live for.
We have organised this fundraiser to ensure that Koneshwaran receives the funeral he rightfully deserves and help his family during this extremely difficult time of their lives. Even the smallest amount of donation will be appreciated by his children Hari, Thenmoli and Nithya.
Koneshwaran was the breadwinner for this family and he was an individual who ensured his family was able to live comfortably in Australia while being on bridging visas. They are not entitled to Government benefits. Let's come together and ensure remaining members of Koneshwaran's family have a safe future in Australia.
Please Note: This fundraiser is organised by Tamil refugee council on behalf of the family
