Debbie's Story: "My mom was a very hardworking, loving and happy person. She was always smiling and cheerful, even when she was at her sickest. She always had a positive attitude and strength like no other. My mother was my greatest inspiration and my best friend. I’m so grateful to have had the privilege of being her daughter. I am utterly heart broken and don’t know how to handle my immense sorrow, but not having the additional stress of having to worry about funeral expenses would help to lighten the burden and allow me to focus more on healing.
My mom worked as a registered nurse until she suffered a massive stroke in October of 1999. She saved several lives as a nurse and followed her intuition when she knew something was wrong. She was very compassionate and friendly to everyone she met. I was pregnant with my fourth baby at the time and did not have a second thought about caring for her for the past 21 years, even when I became ill myself. I have a rare form of muscular dystrophy, chronic respiratory failure and am ventilator dependent.
My medical expenses are high and I’m unable to work. We are a one income household with a 15 year old who also has health issues. My mom also loved Austin. She moved from Corpus Christi at age 18 after graduating high school to attend UT Brackenridge school of nursing. She loved Austin so much, she never wanted to leave. You might need to rearrange this. I’m having a lot of trouble focusing. I’m sorry and so grateful to you for your help.
The basic funeral service is 4810 + 2500 for a casket + about 4000 for a plot, not including a headstone"
