Funeral for Timothy "Slick" Hurd
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Cindy Fields Hurd. Tim and I have been together 37 years as of August, 2022. He is my rock, my support, and the love of my life.
Tim was loyal and always made sure Family, friends everyone he cared about had what they needed. He was parr none when it came to his family and friends.
Tim has his own concrete construction business that was his. Tim worked up to the day he went into the hospital. With Tim unable to work, we had no income; We are behind on our rent and utilities, and now I must lay him to rest.
In July, Tim wasn't feeling well and went to the Doctor. It was discovered that he was having some heart issues, and the Doctor ordered a heart cath to be done.
On July 27, 2022, The heart cath delivered terrible news that he would need open heart surgery.
On August 1, 2022, at Central Baptist, The doctors opened his chest, removed a vein from the mammary gland, and completed open heart surgery. He was in ICU for four days and then in a patient room.
On August 10, 2022 Tim was released to come home on several restrictions. He was on the road to recovery, or so we thought. Things seemed to be going in the right direction.
August 13, 2022, started out being a typical day. My Sister was home, so I knew she would keep a watchful eye on Tim. I decided to grab a few items from Krogers and hurry back home. I figured 30 minutes at the most. I had made it to the next stop sign from our home, my sister had called, and Tim's Oxygen level had dropped to 40%!!! In 90 seconds, when I had been gone, our lives were turned upside down. We called 911 and proceeded to do what we learned until help arrived and took over for us. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. He fought so hard
On August 17, 2022, doctors told us that Tim has a rare infection that 1/5000 people with open heart surgery contact this infection. Central Baptist doctors and ICU teams did everything they could to help Tim fight this infection and be comfortable as he could be. He was being pumped full of antibiotics and steroids.
On September 2, 2022, it was decided Tim would go into surgery. His body was exhausted he passed over on the operating table, which the doctors had shared with Ricky and I that it was a risk. I just wanted Tim to be comfortable
I am at a loss for words right now. Tim was a wonderful man, and I am so Thankful and Blessed I got to spend 37 beautiful years with him. Tim would expect me to pull up my bootstraps and get things done. For Tim, I am doing that.
Please, I would appreciate any donation; I understand money is tight for everyone; if you can't donate, please leave a word of encouragement about Tim.
