FUNERAL for Virginia (Joann Jones)Walker

Donation protected

Hi my name is Tracey Jones Williams and I am fund-raising to help pay for a funeral for my sister Joann who passed away ait Forrest General Hospital September 4th, 2021.

Jones Funeral Home in Richton, MS. is going to be in charge of my sisters funeral service. We were given a quoted price on what a very basic funeral is going to cost and that is $5000 and even though this amount is a lot less than the normal cost, our family just does not have it , so we are trying to collect the money by asking for donations, and I know due to the current economy that COVID-19 has caused many people like us to have limited funds and are only able to donate a limited amount and please know that no amount is too small because every amount adds up and will be a great help when it’s all added together so for those people who would like to help and can afford to donate to help us pay for Joann’s Funeral it would be very much appreciated with any amount that you can afford to donate. We also would like to ask those who planned to send flowers if they will please DONATE TO THE FUNERAL EXSPENSES INSTEAD SO WE CAN HAVE THE FUNDS NEEDED TO GIVE JOANN A SIMPLE but proper burial.

  • If 200 people DONATE $25 it adds up to $5000
  • If 500 people DONATE $10 it adds up to $5000
  • If 1000 people DONATE $5 it adds up to $5000

so you can see from the EXAMPLES given that when all amounts are added together it can quickly add up to help us reach our goal.

We have an appointment at Jones Funeral Home Tuesday, September 7, 2021 to make the FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS so that gives us very little time to raise the money needed to pay for Joann’s FUNERAL so we ask if you can afford to DONATE to PLEASE do so as soon as possible.

Please feel free to call JONES FUNERAL HOME

directly at [phone redacted] to inquire on how to DONATE DIRECTLY TO THE FUNERAL HOME and to find out when the FUNERAL SERVICE for

Virginia Joann Jones Walker will be scheduled.

Joann was our big sister and always had a story to tell about when each of us was born and how she was always helping Moma take care of us by finding bottles and shoes and always putting our cloths back on us because we would take them off as soon as she put them on us... it was never ending and when we would cry she would put her hand over our mouths and pat our mouths like when we played cowboys and Indians and made the Indian sound and eventually we started patting our mouths by ourself s when we would cry lol and she said that was funny. Many times JOANN reminded us as she would tell us the stories about when we were little that she was the Moma too. After JOANN married and moved out she would come over to visit us and it was always fun when she would play the piano and sing “Froggy Went A Courtin” and I remember so well when Joann had her first baby which was a boy that was Andy and I use to stay with JOANN when our Moma was working at the Neely sewing factory but because I missed Moma I would cry until she came back to get me. Joann later was remarried and had 2 more babies which was Amy and Daniel and I would always look forward to Christmas holidays and Summer vacations when I got to go stay with her at her house in Magee and I would help her by playing with Andy, Amy & Daniel and she would work in the watermelon field that they planted because she was saving up money to buy her a China Cabinet and me and the kids would set up a table beside the road in front of the house and sell watermelons and lemonade to help her get enough money to buy a China Cabinet and at the end of the Summer we made more than enough to buy her a nice China Cabinet and I remember she gave me a hundred dollars to spend on whatever I wanted and took me shopping to buy school shoes and off we would go headed back home to Moma and Daddy’s so I could start back to school but I was always sad when she had to leave and go back to Magee. I remember she made me a complete wardrobe of cloths that Summer and did it all in about 3days and it was about 25 dresses of all kinds of styles and pretty colors that she made from patterns and material.

Christmas break she taught me how to sew because I was in Home Ec class and it was not going to good for me because we didn’t have enough of sewing machines in class and had to take turns so it took forever to make one simple shirt and when I finally got mine made my teacher didn’t think I did well so JOANN Seam ripped the whole shirt apart and used it to make a pattern and in one night she had taught me how to make the shirt exactly as it was supposed to be then she got more material so I could make several more to practice on and I made 10 shirts in 2 days that took me a whole year to make just the one at school and when I showed my teacher she didn’t believe that I made them all without help and even suggested that Joann made them for me but I told her if she would only let me show her I would prove I done it all by myself and I did and I got a A+ and I could hardly wait to tell JOANN. I remember when Joann made all of Amy’s pageant dresses and they looked just like the LITTLE Dolly dresses that were sold in the stores. JOANN got a job making cloths to display in the sewing department at TWL and I was with her the day she was hired and it was so funny how she out smarted the unfriendly lady who worked in that department that insulted Joann when she inquired about who made the dress on display because it was not well made and Joann was trying to get the layout of the dress so she could make one like it so we had to create a diversion so she could get a chance to look closer at the dress but JOANN got more than she bargained for lol the store manager hired her on the spot and moved the unfriendly lady to another department and well it was a fun day

I wish I had more time to tell all the good memories about my sister but I am pressed for time to get this done for obvious reasons but moving forward JOANN remarried and had 2 more children which was Kerri and Man Man and as we know of her loss for Man Man passed away years later at age 20. Joann lived a full life and had many adventures and relationships along the way and like most of us she made mistakes and had regrets but she never gave up trying to make it on her own and she loved her children and her brothers and sisters and loved her Moma and her Daddy and and all of her family and friends and we love her and will miss her so very much. JOANN had a very generous heart and was always ready to help when she could and she never met a stranger and she loved to talk and that is one of the thingsI will miss most about her how she and I would call each other and talk for hours about everything. Joann loved to cut up and have fun and was always thinking about how to make some money and she and I planned to open a business together one day where she would do sewing and alterations and I would handle the selling and bookkeeping but we never got to do it but we had fun talking about it.

If you knew Joann you couldn’t help but to love her in all her crazy and fun ways.

I hope and pray to raise enough money to have a proper funeral service for JOANN and I ask those who are able to help and I thank you in advance for any amount that you can DONATE.

God Bless
