Funeral Fund for the tragic loss of Tyson Ndongozi

Donation protected

I am starting this fundraiser in the name of the North Gloucester Giants football team & friends in order to help support the Ndongozi family through these difficult times of loss following Tyson's senseless murder due to gun violence.

Tyson's family moved to Canada 5 years ago from Burundi in hopes for a better life. His father worked hard to support Tyson as well as his brothers and sisters by going back to school and having a career change once in Canada. Tyson on the other hand, who barely spoke any English; caught the eye of coach Chris Lalonde (President of the Giants) for his EVIDENT natural offensive line potential ! Tyson joined the team... (and from what I hear - he was a terrible player his first year ha ha ha !!!).

The following year however, Tyson TRANSFORMED into an incredible football player, respected by his peers for so much more than just his athletic capabilities . No one could resist smiling or breaking out into a dance party when Tyson lifted up his jersey over his belly to bust a move !

Although Tyson was no longer of playing age for the team, he was always present and ready to help. He attended every volunteering and charity opportunity held by the Giants. He had such a beautiful and loving heart. He was supposed to help train the new recruits this year. Coincidentally.... the first day of the football season started the day he was murdered. Tyson was a part of the Giants family for nearly 4 years.

My husband Chris, the President of the Giants, had an unbreakable bond with Tyson. He took Tyson under his wing like a big brother / coach / mentor. All of the coaches and volunteers at the Giants cherished Tyson and could always count on him to show up & help out when it mattered. Tyson loved his coaches and looked up to all of them.

Tyson graduated from high school two weeks ago at the age of 20.

He was thrilled to be moving to Quebec under a football scholarship at the College Notre Dame in three weeks. He was full of ambition and drive. He had a bright future ahead surely.

Tyson spread JOY and WICKED dance moves EVERYWHERE he went.

His smile and laughter were contagious.

He was loved by ALL.

On July 5th, 2021, we woke up to the unimaginable news that Tyson had unjustly and unexplainably been shot dead after being out with his friends playing basketball. The Ottawa Police are still looking for the suspects involved in his murder.  We URGE YOU and BEG YOU to contact the Ottawa Police with any information you may have. Tyson was not involved in criminal activities. He was not known by the police. He was a respectful young man, full of dreams, hopes, and love.

His loss will be grieved tremendously by all of his teammates, coaches, friends, teachers & family. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you touched by his loss. A life taken unjustly - and much too soon.
