Funeral Fundraiser for Garrett Van Epps

My cousin Erin lost her 20-year-old son on Saturday, October 2 in a tragic motorcycle accident.  The note below was written by Erin’s youngest sister, my cousin Kerri.

 

 

Asking someone for help, whether it’s friends, family, acquaintances or even total strangers, is scary.

 

But here I am, doing just that.

 

I’m asking for donations to help cover funeral expenses for an amazing, loving, empathetic, funny, loyal and kind young man who touched so many lives - - but was taken from this world too soon.

 

The young man I’m describing is my nephew, Garrett Van Epps.

 

On the night of October 1, Garrett was in a horrific accident when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by an oncoming car that swerved into his lane. He succumbed to his injuries early the next morning.

 

And now, our family is shattered.

 

Garrett leaves behind his mother Erin, father Bryan, and sisters Mikaela and Rylee. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, a cousin, and a legion of friends.

 

Even though Garrett was only 20 years old, his time spent on this earth was only a drop in the bucket for his old soul.

 

My sister’s family is devastated.  They were all so close. Garrett was a fierce protector of his mother and sisters. 

 

I’m asking you to help us give Garrett the goodbye he deserves - - to honor his memory and acknowledge the impact he has had on everyone who was blessed enough to know him.
