Funeral Funds for Ghorke "Chuckie" Gwen
Donation protected
Ghorke "Chuckie" Gwen was taken away from us suddenly on February 1, 2020. Life was not always easy for Chuckie and he grew up through many obstacle and challenges that a young kid shouldn't have to face. He stayed with his elder sister in a 2-bedroom apartment in Rose Park. Chuckie has always said that getting where he was wasn’t easy. He learned a lot of lessons the hard way, not having the privilege of parental guidance. Life has been all but smooth since he moved to the United States in 2004. With Liberia consumed in civil war in 2002, the U.S. was the only way out other than death. Recently Chuckie told his sister that in life “It’s either you carry yourself through every day or you fall. It’s you living your life, nobody else”. His life experiences did not keep him down.
But Chuckie was always safe because he had a sister who sacrificed so much for the both. Helen loves her brother more than anyone can ever comprehend. She made sure that her brother was taken care of even when she was struggling herself. Helen made it her mission to see her brother graduate and earn his high school diploma. She spent countless of hours in the library and at home studying for her college exams but also helping her brother every step of the way and worked hard to keep a roof over their head throughout high school, and college. Chuckie was a loving person that cared for the people around him. Most of all he had love for his sister and will be remembered as an amazing brother he left many great memories behind.
Chuckie has left behind many friends and family, but for the most part, it is Helen Deborah Saylee who is hurting and must raise the funds for his medical and funeral expenses. Any donation you can give will be appreciated and it will help eliminate some of the stress of funeral expenses. We want Helen to focus on healing as much as possible.
Chuckie, you are loved. Rest easy.
