John Shaw was the most loving and giving person I had the pleasure of calling my bestest bestie. A little over 2 years ago John started having issues with his voice and a sore throat. After many months of treatments for allergies and sinus issues while being unemployed, he was diagnosed with throat cancer that was very aggressive. John was a non-smoker, non-vaper and non-smokeless tobacco user so this came as a shock to everyone. He had surgery to remove the cancer and was told it had all been removed. He was treated with Chemo & Radiation, which fused his esophagus and vocal chords together. A little over 2 months later, John was told his cancer had returned. He had a surgery done to separate his vocal chords and esophagus, which failed. His set of tests showed the cancer had spread to his lung. This prompted a scheduled surgery on his lung and had had 2.5 ltrs of fluid removed but no other surgery could be done because the cancer had spread to his sternum. He was told nothing else could be done other than some Radiation. This was only a few short months ago. He had a fall around a month ago and had to be taken to the hospital where they determined he had a front lobal brain tumor the size of a golf ball. This was removed and he was sent home prematurely, at no fault of the hospitals. He then had another fall and had to go back to the hospital where he had an emergency blood transfusion and spent 3 days recovering. After returning home, John was bed ridden and never recovered. He passed away 9/11 at 7:35am. Because of John not being able to work, he had no insurance so there are many bills left. The family would appreciate any amount donation. Nothing is to much or too little. And prayers are always appreciated if nothing else. Please, if you can, help ease the burden this family is now faced to carry. John was loved by so many people and will be forever missed.
