Funeral & Memorial for Ramon "Ray" Cano
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rick Cano, Ray's younger brother and I started this GoFundMe to help his family with funeral costs and memorial..
Ray was a track & cross country athlete and had several records to his name by the time he graduated high school at Cal-High in Whittier, California. Ray was also a US Army Veteran and served his country honorably in Alaska as well as at Fort Lewis, Washington.
Ray was a rabid Seahawk's fan, loved the outdoors, watched a gazillion movies and his last movie I took him to watch was the Top Gun sequel and he loved it. But one thing he loved more than anything else, a great hamburger. No matter where I took him for lunch or dinner, he always wanted a hamburger.
Ray led a rough life in the streets of Tacoma, in and out of missions for men, half way houses, state sponsored small shack communities and two weeks before the Super Bowl he got the best news he could have prayed and hoped for...his own apartment with his own TV, stove, fridge, shower, and space in a furnished home. He was straitening out his life and he was soooo excited moving into his new home and planning for a future. Sadly, he passed away just two months into his new home. His heart was so worn out living a rough life it finally ran out of time.
He's survived by his children: son, Nico Cano, his wife Sara and their two children, and his daughter, Selena, her husband David Cotton and their baby boy due in August.
