Funeral & Memorial Service for Miguel Medina

Donation protected
Miguel Medina, 60, of Conroe passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born November 18, 1962, to Lorenzo and Gregoria Medina in La Argentina, Huila, Colombia.

He fought against the complexities of renal failure for more than 10 years. Although his mobility became limited over the years, his energy and vibrant attitude demonstrated his strong faith. Years in and out of the hospital didn’t diminish his positivity and the hope of one day being healthy enough to help our mom financially. His cheerfulness and positivity will be missed very much.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with a vigil service and rosary to commence at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mass will be celebrated, followed by his burial in Garden Park Cemetery.

Miguel was a generous and loving person. He was a devout Catholic, dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary. Serving at his local church, both in Conroe and Pereira, Colombia, brought him much joy. Despite his physical afflictions, his faith never wavered. He enjoyed having company over at his home nestled in the heart of Conroe, often encouraging visits big and small, where he would bake his famous banana nut bread and orange sweet bread to go along with a hot cup of coffee. His love for music led him to dancing cumbia and salsa and listening to the Colombian tango vallenatos and all other music. The ocean was his favorite place, and he was an eager swimmer. The opportunity to travel with his beloved wife was a joy that he was able to experience from his years as a truck driver and when he lived in Colombia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Maria, children, Lisbeth Retana and husband, Dino, Elizabeth Antunez and husband, Mauricio, Miguel Medina and wife, Leticia, and Danny Medina; Grandchildren: Frank, Sofia, Emma, Olivia, Anthony, Catherine, Eleanor, Landon, Aurora, Christian, Ella, Lilah, and Matthew; Siblings: Felisa Medina, Araceli Medina, Berta Medina, Victoria Rodriguez, Eliecer Medina, Dolores Medina, and Graciela Rosas. Miguel was preceded in death by his parents Lorenzo and Gregoria Medina, and siblings Angelmiro Medina, Roberto Medina, Tito Medina, and Beatriz Medina.
