Donation protected

Dear friends and family,
It is with sadness to notify the public of the death of our mother/grandmother Angelina Lumet Lako also known as Habuba Lumet. On December 1st, Angelina was admitted to Mercy Hospital after testing positive for COVID19.  She had a long battle with the novel virus which ultimately let to her death. Angelina's symptoms worsened overtime and led to respiratory complications followed by multi-organ failure and ultimately her passing on Tuesday, December 29th of 2020. Although we're saddened by the circumstance that led to her death, we are grateful that Angelina is no longer suffering from this terrible disease. Angelina has lived an honorable life and has served her community to the best of her ability; now we hope to serve Angelina by providing her with the proper farewell funeral burial. We are asking for your financial support to help our family put our beloved mother/grandmother to rest by celebrating her life and provide a worthy funeral. Angelina is well known among the South Sudanese Community Association of Maine since her arrival to Maine in 2001. Habuba Lumet has been a life long farmer up until recently, she actively maintained strong connections between her friends and relatives all over the globe. Angelina has been the fabric of keeping our family connected by bridging the communication gap with relatives in Africa, North America, Australia and Europe. Mama Lumet enjoyed talking on the telephone and is known to give great advices on cultural and traditional customs specially amongst the Bari community. Angelina has gained many friends and relatives throughout her life and was prominent figure amongst the elders in the Portland Immigrant communities. We are asking for your financial support to help our grieving family provide an honorable and dignifying funeral service for our beloved mother/grandmother Angelina Lumet Lako. Angelina is survived by her children John Yanga, Siama Yanga (South Sudan), Thomas Yanga and Pitia Yanga(Sudan).

Thank you for all the support that you have shown to our family during this difficult times, we truly appreciate it.
