Funeral Services for Miguel Sanchez
Once a Cobra, always a Cobra....
Miguel Sanchez was a humble and respectful graduate of the South Miami Senior Class of
2017. He was a student in my TV Production class for his four years of high school, worked part-time to help his mom and was friendly with everyone he encountered.
On August 1, 2020 at 22 years of age, Miguel, lost his battle with an aggressive form of Lupus, an autoimmune disease, which ultimately cau
sed him to suffer three strokes in his last six m
onths of life.
Miguel’s single mom, Marta Xon, is understandably overwhelmed with grief in the loss of her only son. During his hospitalization, Ms. Xon reached out to me and other South Miami Sr. school staff as part of Miguel’s extended family.
On Miguel’s last day on earth, I knew Miguel was very ill. Ms. Xon, placed me on a call for
one of the most difficult conversations I have
ever had with a former student. Miguel died peacefully later that same day. In memory of this noble young man, I am reaching out to our South Miami friends & family for any support that can be provided to help his mom raise the 6,000 dollars needed to plan his funeral services.
Gone too soon. Rest In Peace, Miguel. Once a Cobra, always a Cobra.
