Funeral Services for our beloved (coach) Charles

As many of you know Christen Charles Jensen passed away on August 11th 2021. We have decided as his family to share our families heartbreak covid story……..

Just about three weeks ago Charles wasn’t feeling good and went to Selma Emergency Department. In the evening he asked his niece Stephanie to give him a ride home. So she did. She then asked him what was wrong, he told her he had covid and pneumonia and had to corritine for 10 days. At that time she thought it was strange that they didn’t admit him, but she went along with it. Fast forward about 7-8 days into coritine, Charles didn’t seem to be getting any better. His sister Jennifer received a call from Charles’s room mate that they needed to come and get him and take him back to the Emergency room. His niece Stephanie decided to go over and when she got there she  spoke to Charles threw his window, he agreed to go back, so she decided to call 911 and he agreed to let the paramedics take him To CRMC. CRMC said he was recovering just fine and sent him home. Jennifer then picked up and Charles asked her to take him to Selma hospital. They kept him in isolation for about 12 hours and then sent him home. Dr. And nurses said once again he was just recovering from covid. Fast forward one more time to last week. Charles was home in coritine, just celebrated his 67th bday and fell in the entry way to his house. He was there for about an hour before calling 911. He was then taken to Selma Emergency for the third time and 12 hours later he was then transferred to Adventist health in Handford. He was still admitted with covid-19 and pneumonia . We were told he would be there for a few days to maybe a week and transferred to a convalescent for therapy before coming home. As time went on Charles got worse. They found a diabetic infection, his oxygen went down to 88, his blood pressure went lower. On his last day, Stephanie called Charles and she explained that it sounded like someone was standing on his chest. (Due to covid) his kidney’s we’re starting to fail. Dr. Plan of action at that time was to intubated him out in ICU to bring up his oxygen, that never happened. Yesterday before going into ICU Charles went into cardiac arrest. They brought him back with CPR. And not even an hour later he went into cardiac arrest for a second time. He passed away at August 11, 2021 at 3:19pm. Cause of death: covid-19

This ugly virus took away our family member and someone that everyone loved. At this time we are asking for any donations to help with funeral related expenses. We appreciate any help and we are so thankful for everyone that has reached out already. RIP Charles Jensen
