FunkyTownFridge is a collective initiative of grassroots efforts through mutual aid networks, nonprofits, restaurants, grocery stores, and individuals of the Fort Worth Community working together.

We hope to keep the fridges stocked primarily through food rescue and receipt of contributions from local businesses, including bakeries, restaurants and grocers. By collecting items that cannot or will not be sold, such as produce with cosmetic blemishes or food near its best-by date, we are able to keep the Community Fridges stocked and open to the community.

We support and promote each other’s efforts while encouraging decentralized, self-sustaining community fridges. We are focused on eliminating food waste and practicing mutual aid through food.

This fund will allow community organizers to purchase fridges to be put in areas throughout Fort Worth where many of our homeless folks live, and families have no grocery stores with access to healthy foods.

Your monetary contributions will provide food and supplies free of charge to anyone in need. Any extra donations will go to essential packages that will be distributed in the Fort Worth area as well.
