Hi my name is Tenisha Lambert, I’m raising money for my Niece, Tyliyah Whitis, who was murdered early Tuesday morning. Tyliyah was 15 years old at the time of her passing. She finished her freshman year with straight A’s, taking several advanced classes. She was on the basketball team in school and also joined a summer basketball league, in which her team won the state championship this year. Outside of her academic life, Tyliyah worked 2 jobs. She worked at a local ice cream shop and at a local corner store in Peoria, Il. Tyliyah was a an extraordinary daughter, she was a loving sister and an inspiring auntie. She enjoyed being with family, hanging out with friends and being productive. She aspired to own her own business and was ahead of her time. She had a bright future and didn’t deserve for her life to be ended in such a tragic way. When Tyliyah was shot, she was driving her sisters car, lost control of the wheel and crashed into a tree. She had only been in Iowa for 2 weeks before this nightmare, visiting her sister for the summer. With this being so sudden, her family didn’t have a life insurance policy and is experiencing more challenges due to Tyliyah not living in Iowa, but being murdered here. We are asking for donations as all proceeds will go to the funeral cost. Anything will help and the family is gracious for the love, support, thoughts and prayers.
