Furse Family Fighting COVID-19

Donation protected
Jacob is the fun-loving and kindhearted husband of Molly Furse, and the father to almost two-year-old Noah along with baby #2 coming in April ‘21. He’s been hospitalized with COVID-19 at Kennestone hospital in Marietta, Ga, since December 16th.

Jacob and his wife started feeling sick towards the beginning of December with what felt like sinus infections, but would get much more serious for Jacob, who is just 30 years old and happens to have asthma. After he couldn’t keep his temperature down or his oxygen up at home, his family had to drop him off at the ER for treatment. Jacob was diagnosed with COVID-19 and sent home only to have to return two days later and be admitted.

During his stay, he’s had to receive high amounts of oxygen to keep him stable while his lungs slowly begin to heal. The doctors have also treated him with fluids, anti-viral medication, and plasma infusion therapy. Jacob is slowly able to achieve a little more each day, but each small movement he makes is a struggle to catch his breath and keep his oxygen level where it needs to be. We continue to pray over the doctors and nurses in charge of his care and are thankful for all they do for every patient in this awful situation.

The plan is for Jacob’s oxygen to be titrated a little each day according to what he can handle, and let his lungs continue healing. He will still have to be sent home with oxygen, and it will take several weeks or even months for him to regain his strength again.

Jacob is a choral and drama educator at Garrett Middle School in Austell, GA. At this point he will be hospitalized for at least 10 days including Christmas, hopefully making it home to be with his wife and child by the new year.

Jacob is the main financial provider for Molly, little Noah, and baby-to-come in April, and medical costs already incurred have exceeded what they can afford without knowing when he’ll be able to return to work.

If you would consider helping out the growing Furse family during this trying time, they will be using these funds directly to support themselves with household and medical bills.

Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.
