Our hearts are broken as we share the tragic news of the sudden passing of our beloved friend and family member Samuel Irvin. On Sunday the 23rd of July, we lost a part of ourselves. Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, his life was cut short at age 23.

Sam was not just a wonderful son, brother, fiancé, friend, and expecting father but he was also a light to the entire community. Sam recently graduated from the Police Academy and was a new addition to the Mansfield Township Police Department which he was so excited about. Sam was deeply dedicated to serving the community and making the world a better place. Sam was incredibly selfless and would give the shirt off of his back to his friends and family. He loved his family, friends and animials more than anything. Watching my sister and Sam’s love was nothing short of amazing.

Sam brought so much joy into everyone’s lives, he would go out of his way to make you smile. He loved to joke around and his laugh was infectious. Sam loved our family farm, he would bring Bailey his golden retriever over and they would walk the fields. Whenever the wind started to blow the long grass fields he would ask us all to watch for a minute. Sam loved Ohio State and the Chicago Cubbies, no matter what was going on, even when Kenzie and Sam were deciding when the wedding will be Sam had to make sure Ohio State wasn't playing that night.

Although Sam’s life ended abruptly, he lived a fulfilling life. We are asking that in place of flowers, please donate to Sam and Mackenzie’s unborn child. This will help with any future medical bills. Sam was so excited to be a dad and support his family. Let us come together and give back to the man who gave so much to others. Let's lift Mackenzie and the Irvin family, honor Sam's legacy and show them they're not alone.

If you can please read Philippians 2:3, Sam had this on his baseball glove and I can't think of a better verse that shows who Sam was.

We can't thank you enough for the love, kindness and endless support.

Love,
Mikaela Santucci (Mackenzie’s sister)
