Future Home of the Scioto County Heritage Museum

After an extensive search for a permanent space for our museum, we were thrilled to be gifted the historic 623 Market Street house. As the new permanent home for the Scioto County Heritage Museum, we are excited to embark on the mission of renovating this historic gem!

For decades, this historic building has stood as a silent witness to our town’s evolution, its walls echoing the stories of generations past. But today, it requires our help. The bricks behind the bay window have not only caused structural concerns but also threatened to erase a piece of our shared history.

Imagine in the not-so-distant future, passing by 623 Market Street not as a crumbling relic, but as a beautiful historic building housing some of the area’s most unique items. Our museum is a treasure trove of stories, a living testament to our community’s rich past. From artifacts dating back to the Portsmouth Spartans to Selby Shoes, these items showcase pivotal moments in our town’s history, serving as a window into our collective identity.
