Imagine a world where children and youth are bursting with potential but have no place to grow physically or mentally. In Tanzania, the majority of young people face a harsh reality – overcrowded classrooms, with over 300 students, where personalized attention is nearly impossible. Physical education is often neglected, and sports facilities are either in disrepair or non-existent.
Fifteen years ago, we established Future Stars Academy (FSA) with a mission to change this narrative. Through football, we empower youth to improve their physical and mental well-being, while helping them build crucial life skills like teamwork, resilience, self-confidence, and goal-setting.
At FSA, we believe football is more than just a game – it’s a path to a brighter future. Our non-profit organization has already touched the lives of countless children through various impactful programs:
- Football training and coaching for boys and girls from 4 years to 20 years old.
- Training of Trainers (TOT) empowering over 200 aspiring Junior Coaches and putting them on track for success
- The East African Chipkizi Cup: The biggest Youth and Grassroots tournament in Africa with over 7 countries participating and 5000 participants (347 teams)
- Host of 1st African Women’s World Cup with 8 countries participating Empowered over 200 Teachers from 80 schools reaching over 30,000 students through sports in our outreach program.
- Provided opportunities to over 30 students to attain academic scholarships to prestigious schools and Universities across the world.
- Groomed 12 boys and girls to National team’s call up from Under 15, Under 17, Under 20 and senior teams call ups and employment.
Despite our success, there has always been one major challenge: we lack access to dedicated sports fields and essential facilities like changing rooms, classrooms, a kitchen and canteen to prepare and to serve clean drinking water and meals.
Our activities are often interrupted because we rely on rented or borrowed fields, which can suddenly become unavailable. But now, after years of persistence, we are thrilled to announce great news!
We’ve secured 8 acres of land from the Government of Tanzania, in the heart of Arusha, bringing us one step closer to our dream – building our very own football fields and a Youth Empowerment Centre. This space will be more than a sports facility; it will be a thriving hub for personal growth and community development for children and young adults.
Now, we need your help to make this dream a reality!
We've partnered with the German NGO, Time2Help, and have secured seed funding to start building in December 2024. However, there's a condition: we need to raise an additional €25,000. If we can hit this goal by Christmas 2024, construction will continue into 2025.
Join the cause! donate and share this campaign to get us closer to our goal.
