Helping the youth of Attawapiskat

Hello
My name is Melanie Phelps I am a Registered Nurse and have lived on the Reserve of Attawapiskat for the past 35 years. This is my home !
Recently there have been many (100 +) attempts by community members especially the youth and children and 2 successful suicides since October 2015. The youth feel hopeless there is no recreational activities for them, boredom is rampant, tv video games and Facebook is the most pleasures they get, education is lacking, jobs are few and far between and drugs and alcohol abuse affect everyone in some way and bullying is a major problem. Councelling is hard to get and the youth feel hopeless. Over crowding is a major issue and there is no privacy
The youth don't ask for much but they talk of wanting a recreational building, a gym, gym equipment , hunting ,fishing, camping equipment games, movie equipment, movies outdoor sports equipment etc
As a fly in only community travel is very expensive out of town activities are not really options.
I only wish that the youth can have a happy productive life as is a wish for all human beings.
I AM ASKING FOR DONATIONS TO GIVE THE MONEY TO THE YOUTH TO BUY THE THINGS THEY NEED FOR A BETTER WAY OF LIFE
