When a skinny, neglected Hairy Chinese Crested named Barbara first came to us, she faced several health challenges—an ear infection, loss of fur from open sores all over her body, partial sight in one eye and complete blindness and possible removal of the other, and severe dental problems. Whatever her tough past, Barbara is remarkably resilient! She’s a sweet, calm dog who patiently puts up with her rambunctious terrier sister’s efforts to get her to play, and welcomes people into our home with tail wagging. And with lots of excellent veterinary care, Barbara is well on her way to overcoming her numerous health problems. Her ears are clear, an ophthalmologist is working to save her eye, and with treatment for an underlying auto-immune disorder, she now has fur where previously there were open sores! But one health challenge remains—Barbara’s past neglect has resulted in such serious dental problems that she requires treatment from a veterinary dental specialist who says that he will likely have to remove all of her teeth and perform complicated surgery to repair her jaw.
With courage and persistence, this spunky little dog has come so far on her journey to good health. Now, Barbara needs your help. The extensive and complicated dental treatment she requires, unfortunately, is beyond what Much Love Animal Rescue can afford. Barbara has just this one last hurdle to overcome. Please find it in your heart to donate so that Barbara can finally have the happy, healthy life she deserves.
