Dominican Republic Medical Mission Trip
Donation protected
Hello friends,
Heading to the Dominican Republic on a medical mission trip with a group of orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, physicians, nurses, prosthetists and orthotists. We are planning to evaluate, fit and deliver prostheses to amputees there. Some have been amputees for 2-15 years and never had a prosthesis. We also plan to see orthotic patients, mainly children, with debilitating diagnoses.
This opportunity has been something on my heart for nearly a decade. This area of the Dominican has not had prosthetic/orthotic care for many years.
Anything helps and is greatly appreciated. We have all the feet and knees donated and a lot of hardware but we will have to get all the kits/brims/liners to fabricate the sockets. Ossur has been extremely helpful but there is still a lot to purchase. We have 30 patients (10 TT and 20 TF) and we have already had to tell three TF patients they aren't candidates.
If you would like to be a part of this and see the difference that is made, I would graciously ask for your financial support.
