Emergency Car Repairs
We have a car that has just continually been giving us issues and my stepdad is the sole income/provider. He went to go start it on the morning of February 24th and it has not started since.
I have health issues that keep me from working a traditional job. Between my previous wrist injury, mild cerebral palsy, and much more.. It makes getting a job even at a fast food restaurant very difficult. I cannot be on my feet for very long (at most 5 hours before I'm in mass amounts of pain) or have major lifting requirements due to the previous wrist injury.
As a result, most of my income comes from livestreaming on Twitch and art commissions, however it is inconsistent and unreliable. Payouts from Twitch can take as long as three months and if I'm lucky, sometimes I'll get commissioned once or twice a month every few months. (Not to say that I'm complaining when I do get commissioned, but it's not consistent. I do appreciate those who have commissioned me in the past.)
I've gone to job interviews and even the employers have told me that due to my physical limitations, I would be better suited for an office job. However, due to circumstances beyond my control, I no longer have access to my certificates that would allow me to get clerical or administrative jobs.
My mom also has health issues that give her a compromised immune system that make her getting a job outside of the home pretty difficult.
As a result we are both pretty home bound. She tries to get crafting commissions as well but unfortunately another individual in the local area is always stealing her ideas and local sales.
My biggest concern is we now have no food in the house, our animals need food and I am worried about how much longer my stepdad can keep getting rides from co-workers without him not having "reliable transportation" becoming an issue.
Additionally, my mother has medication that helps her with health issues and those are getting low, particularly the thyroid meds.
If you've been following me for awhile, you may remember that back in March of 2019, I had started another GoFundMe campaign in order to help my family with paying bills. You may also remember that I posted a story talking about family members who failed to pay us back almost $1500 in rent. As of today, we still haven't been paid back and that has resulted in us not being able to keep up with bills or being able to fix the car.
The reason why we are asking for so much is because if we cannot repair our current vehicle, we want to look for a "used/new to us" vehicle to at least get us around for the time being. Due to my mom's compromised immune system and my weak immune system, we cannot take the risk of using Uber and Lyft for modes of transportation due to the unknown amount of germs we could be exposed to.
If you can't donate, please consider spreading the word and sharing it with others.
