Max’s Gender-Affirming Care Fund

Update: It’s been almost a year since I posted this fundraiser and I’m grateful for all the funds I’ve received so far! Thank you to all who have donated. That being said, we’re still pretty far from my goal and recent health issues have changed matters somewhat. I’m a guy with a uterus, unfortunately, and I’ve recently been having health issues related to that organ. I’m in the process of figuring out exactly what’s wrong down there, but all of this has made me even more sure that a hysterectomy (or ovary-removal, whatever would be medically recommended) is the right course for me. My insurance is garbage still, so I’m unsure what the cost would be. I’ll keep updating things here as I learn more. But, I’m updating this to just be a “gender-affirming care” fund. The amount to be raised might change in the future, but for now, I’m hoping that’s all I need. Thanks for all the love and support and happy pride!

Hi friends, Max here. Time for a little gender update and some news! I came out as non-binary a couple of years ago, and as I’ve been exploring my gender throughout this time, I’ve realized that I am more of a trans guy than I had thought before. My pronouns are he/they now, and I no longer think of myself as strictly non-binary. I’d rather say I’m an anti-binary transmasculine person. Gender is always changing and evolving! The next step for me in this journey is making this body my home. For me, that means getting top surgery and unfortunately, it’s extremely expensive. I work a barely above minimum wage job 40hrs a week with no paid time off. I currently do have an insurance plan, but it’s not the best and I pay over a hundred dollars a month out of pocket just to have it barely cover anything

My dysphoria is extremely intense lately. I attribute that to discovering new parts of my gender and finally giving myself permission to be proud of my masculinity. I’m proud to be a transsexual dude but the heightened dysphoria that has come along with this realization has been debilitating. Top surgery is the first step to alleviating this dysphoria and I really hope y’all will help me achieve it.
