SUPPORT MARIE CURIE - In memory of DAD&Grandad

IN MEMORY OF MY GRANDAD, and the absolutely outstanding work Marie Curie did over the very fast period. Myself Mum and Sister will be running a Half Marathon.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DAD, GRANDAD, UNCLE, BROTHER AND EVERYTHING ELSE JOHN BOYLE WAS.

Myself, my Mam and my little sister will be running the Gateshead Half Marathon in loving memory of our recently lost family member. My grandad was the most loving person in this entire world and would have done anything for anyone. He got diagnosed with lung cancer and 4 weeks later passed away as it was extremely aggressive. During his time that he was extremely sick (which was about a 10 day period) Marie Curie were an absolute god send in his care and sorting everything out for us. They were so quick and efficient, loving towards the whole family and the most kind people every single time they visited no matter what time of day. We just want to show our appreciation towards them for the excellent service they provided us and donate everything we raise straight to Marie Curie.

I WAS GOING TO MAKE THIS SPEECH AT YOUR FUNERAL HOWEVER AT MY GRANDADS REQUEST HE DID NOT WANT ONE, therefore I will post what I wanted to read out here and hopefully make some people chuckle.

Grandad

So I’m going to start off by saying WHAT A GRANDAD THIS MAN WAS. And Infact I’m not even going to say was, I’m going to say IS and forever will be the grandad any family could ask for.

I NEVER thought this day would come because he’s always been that safety net for me and I’m pretty sure all of you. Anytime and I mean ANYTIME anyone asks him for a helping hand, a lift somewhere or advice he is ALWAYS right there at the end of the phone if not there in person! There is never a single day that goes by that I don’t get wrong off my grandad and granny for not taking the dogs down. Even if it is little Facebook posts instigating they want to see them. I see everything! Over the past, well 25 years of my life, he has done everything every single year, he gets every single one of his grandchildren and great grandchildren gifts and clothes for Christmas (obviously my granny does too) and also he never let my brother get the bus to and from collage he took him himself even though we all know grandad hates getting up before 11! He always has his little reminder notes on the mantle piece and a note on a whiteboard on the fridge of where he needs to be who he’s picking up and the times which made me giggle this includes his own bloody appointments! Everytime I go down with the dogs I always get shown him on YouTube going through the festival in Benidorm, where he’s off to on his next holiday, where we are going on holiday next and the surroundings as well as anything that’s wrong with me if I’m ill YouTube always has the cure! We go on family holidays if not ever year, he fries himself like a lobster everyday always wears his denim 3 quarters on a night and boy does he take the music Quizzes seriously. Never seen the man so serious in my life. He studies the pictures for about an hour, tells us the wrong answer to the questions and thinks he’s right because he’s still back in the 40’s and doesn’t realise we are now in 2024. On that note, He absolutely adores all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all his friends and family and this is why he deserves the best rest anyone could ever wish for. P.s I’m burrying you with your Newcastle coat! Xx
