El Viejón needs help with damages from Truck Theft

Ernestina Martínez is the proud owner of El Viejón Mexican Food, a go-to food truck for delicious and authentic Mexican street food in the heart of San Jose. Originally from the vibrant state of Puebla Mexico, Ernestina grew up making traditional Mexican dishes. In 2022, she started her food truck business, running it with the help of her family. Together, they whip up tasty tacos, yummy burritos, flavorful tamales, and more.
Early on Sunday November 26th, an unknown thief broke into a local commercial kitchen parking lot that serves many local food businesses and attempted to steal El Viejon, Ernestina’s Food Truck. Despite being locked, the thief broke the serving window open and attempted to drive away from the lot. In the process they damaged other parked food trucks and drove the truck into a rain gutter before escaping. After having the damages inspected, the damages came out to $23,000 not including the wrap on the damaged sides, the mechanical damages that have not been inspected, the rent due for the commercial kitchen as well the money they lose while they are not able to use the truck.
Although Ernestina is working with insurance to get the truck fixed as soon as possible, these claims take time to pay out and it is possible they may not cover all of the damages. It also means that the food truck won't be fixed soon and Ernestina won't be able to work and generate income to maintain her family and business.
As a small business owner any lost opportunity has a big effect on your business. That's why we decided to seek the help of the community to support Ernestina. Any donation you can give is impactful for her and her family, Thank you!
