Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award

My name is Kaitlyn Hammond. I got nominated for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence.

I will be representing ELC and the state of Iowa at the Congress of Future Medical leaders June 21st to the 23rd if I can earn enough money to go. I need to enroll in order to go by April 17th. I will receive one college credit for my attendance. At the conference I will meet winners of the Nobel Prize, award winning inventors and scientists, medical school deans, leaders in medicine, and medical futurists. I will view surgery and have the opportunity to submit questions during the procedure. After the Congress, I will be presented an award for “Future medical leaders award of excellence”. The congress of future medical leaders will be held at Boston, Massachusetts on the campus of UMass Lowell. Tuition is $985 and with housing that’s $1,645. It’s up to me to pay for travel expenses and other things as well, such as plane tickets and money for food. My parents are also invited but hotel fees and other things would be our responsibility as well.

Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to go into the medical field. I have even taken classes at ILCC targeted towards the nursing program so I can help get a head start in my college career. Getting a chance to go to this event would give me a firsthand experience in the program and a chance to meet many knowledgeable people.

If not enough money is earned for this event, I will be putting the money I do earn towards any college expenses, such as tuition and textbooks.
