Support Rene's Battle Against Leukemia
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
Rene grew up with big dreams of becoming an athlete, inspired by his father, who was a coach. Over the years, he made those dreams a reality, playing football in high school and baseball at the collegiate level. Today, Rene is also an avid golfer who enjoys spending time on the greens.
Rene’s greatest pride is his family. He has been married to his wife, Lilly, for eight wonderful years, and they are blessed with two daughters: seven-year-old Avery and four-year-old Ella. Their girls keep them busy with their active lifestyles, from T-ball to tumbling and cheer.
In January 2022, Rene received the devastating diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a fast-progressing cancer of the blood and bone marrow that disrupts the production of normal white blood cells. Since then, he has endured numerous hospital stays, some short, others much longer. Due to his weakened immune system, Rene has had to isolate himself to avoid infections, which has taken him away from his friends, family, and his job with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Rene has undergone approximately 18 rounds of chemotherapy, along with some radiation, but has remained positive through it all. Unfortunately, after a period of remission, the AML has returned, as Rene describes it, “like a two-headed monster.”
We are reaching out to ask for your support in any way possible as Rene, Lilly, and their daughters continue this battle together. Any financial assistance you can provide will help greatly, as Rene has been unable to work for extended periods of time.
Please keep Rene, Lilly, and their family in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time. We are deeply grateful for your love, support, and generosity.
Many blessings to you all.
