Karen's Fight Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
In August, our dear friend and incredible Respiratory Therapist, Karen, was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer.
Karen will be having a double mastectomy at Yale New Haven Hospital within the next few weeks. The prognosis and whether further treatment will be necessary after surgery are still unknown.
Karen, as you may know, is an incredibly dedicated single mom to Alex and CJ, and a hard-working Respiratory Therapist. She does not know when she will be able to return to work, especially since her work requires lifting and holding respiratory equipment and traveling to clients across the county. Even with medical insurance, there will be untold medical bills, co-pays, and unforeseen future treatments. Additionally, Karen will need help covering living expenses.
Karen unfortunately has had an extremely rough couple of years. She ended up with covid and the many complications from that landed her in the hospital. Along with having covid, Karen had numerous reactions to the vaccine. To make matters even worse, Karen took a fall and broke her kneecap in May, which caused her to miss over 8 weeks of work. After all these troubles, this breast cancer diagnosis is more than anyone should have to handle! Through it all, Karen keeps a positive, determined, and optimistic attitude!
Our goal is to make sure Karen can endure this difficult time without financial strain. We want her to focus on healing! Karen has an amazing group of medical professionals to take the best care of her! Karen's family and friends will be there to make sure she is focusing on healing and staying positive and strong!
Any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated. In addition, please feel free to share this page with all your friends and communities to spread the word. In the meantime, Karen is getting herself ready for the journey ahead.
Please check back for updates on her journey. Thank you for anything you can do to help.
