Support Steve's Recovery

One week ago, our life changed! Steve suffered a debilitating stroke last Wednesday while doing what he loves, videoing for his work. Fortunately, due to the quick actions of his colleagues, they got him to the hospital very quickly.
The stroke (intracerebral hemorrhage) caused a ping pong-sized bleed on the right side of his brain. The bleed is resolving but there is pressure on that side of his brain which causes paralysis on the left side. This was caused by undiagnosed/untreated hypertension. Steve is 56 years old. He was healthy, never smoked and had a relatively healthy diet so we had no warning. This can happen to anyone, so we encourage you to please check your blood pressure, regularly.
Steve is looking at a long road to recovery. He will go to rehab for intensive therapy and will need home modifications, a specialized wheelchair and other equipment to assist him and help his wife, Donna, with his ongoing care. It is not in our nature to ask for financial support, but many have reached out offering, and we decided to set up a GoFundMe account. We want to ensure he and Donna have everything they need once he is discharged from the rehab hospital beyond the limited coverage of his insurance and the limited disability coverages.
We firmly believe that all of the positivity we have received in the past week has given Steve the strength to continue fighting. He is in good spirits. It will be a long road ahead, but Steve is a resilient fighter, and Donna will make sure he comes through this stronger than ever. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and concern over the past week. We continue to ask for prayers and hope for miracles. Thank you all.
Lots of love, Steve & Donna Lawrence, Sandra Usifer and family.
