3 Million Step Fundraiser

As a Team we are walking a combined total of 3 Million Steps throughout the month of January. That's an team equivalent of 1,250 miles. An individual total of 340,000 steps! To raise money for Rushton Dog Rescue.

Adult Social Care visits individuals to assess how we can support them in their own home. We look at how community resources and families can support people in their own home. Pets are often a vital part of the family and need to be included in any support plan. Some individuals have no family that can provide support if they are taken into hospital and their pet therefore needs to be cared for, sometimes their friends or neighbours will do this for a short time.

Sometimes pets are not vaccinated and therefore kennels or catteries will not take the animals without proof of vaccination or they have no capacity to take the animals.

Rushton Dog Rescue (Freedom Farm) in Langport came to the rescue of an individual who had a dog in the above circumstances, they were able to take the dog in however, this comes a great cost to the rescue centre due to vets bills and feeding the animals. Cindy from the rescue centre was true to her word, she looked after the dog who thrived in her care even after the owner passed away.

We are therefore raising money to help Cindy and the staff at Rushton Dog Rescue to continue offering a home to dogs.
