Ryder's Rainboots
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Ryder and I'm 8 years old. Welcome to the 2018 Ryder’s Rainboots campaign (year 3!)!!
Two years ago when I was only 6 years old, I was driving with my Mom and we drove through downtown. It was pouring rain. There were lots of people living on the streets without shoes. This isn't fair. Have you ever had wet feet? It's not nice. I wanted to give my boots away right there. My little brother said sadly: “no, those are Ryder’s Rainboots” -- and that is when I thought of my fundraising idea!
So, with my Mom and Dad's help, I started this project “Ryder's Rainboots” to raise money to buy new rain boots for people living in poverty in my community. With your help in the last two years, we have raised $10,043 and bought more than 200 rainy day kits (boots, ponchos or rain suits, gloves, hats, and socks) for men, women, and kids. I give out my rainy day kits personally and include a personalized card that read: “Hope these boots keep your feet dry. From Ryder’s Rainboots xoxo”. My small idea turned into something very big and special. Thank you for helping me!!
This year, my goal is to raise $5,000 by mid-October – that is a lot of money but I think we can do it! I will pick out the boots myself and write notes to everyone again. I want to get 500 people to like my page (www.facebook.com/rydersrainboots). I also want to have give-aways and other fundraisers – so stay tuned!
So, will you help by liking and sharing my page and donating if you can? I want people to have fun and jump in the puddles, and most of all, feel like someone cares for them. Thank you for your support.
