Danny Bullock was born on April 7th, 2004 at a mere 25 weeks. He spent 105 days in the hospital, enduring dozens of tests in which he was diagnosed with two types of cerebral palsy (dystonic and spastic). Since there is currently no cure, Danny is unable to control his arms and legs well enough to walk, bathe, feed himself or care for himself without assistance. His two types of cerebral palsy make treatment difficult, as there are very few people like him.
Despite Danny’s daily challenges, he loves school and life. He always perseveres and remains a positive and happy kid whose personality lights up a room. Danny has many friends that love him dearly. His favorite activities include watching sports and game shows. He also participates in a variety of sports, always with a smile!
Currently, Danny is a 6th grader at Timothy Edwards Middle School. The years ahead will be challenging. He is getting bigger and stronger making it more and more difficult to assist him. His disorder is becoming more painful, as the constant muscle contractions put stress on his joints, leading to other skeletal problems like scoliosis. Additionally, his hips are drifting out of socket and will require painful surgeries in the future. The use of a handicap accessible van will enable Danny’s parents to keep him mobile with ease, and allow him to travel in comfort.
Danny’s parent’s, Mike and Heather Bullock, are both employees of the South Windsor School System and are active members of our community. They have two other amazing children, Matt and Kaitlyn. Thank you in advance for helping this wonderful family!
