Fight for Skylar

This is my heart, my family's and mine.
Her name is Skylar
My niece was born on April 10th, 2016; she immediately began to charm everyone she met. Her bright eyes and sweet smile are hard to resist.

I'm sure she gets much of her silly nature from her parents. She has grown up surrounded by laughter and love.
Skylar started to get sick a couple of weeks ago, she was diagnosed with anemia. Her symptoms did not improve and she was brought back to the hospital for further testing. Following a host of blood tests and scans, our family was given the news.
Yesterday, January 17th, Skylar was diagnosed with Cancer, specifically neuroblastoma. Tumors were discovered above her kidneys, in her lymph nodes, on an overy, in her head, and in her bones.
Skylar is fighting for her life. She is my new benchmark for strength and bravery. She has a long road ahead, but I believe in her with everything I am.
My hero is looking at 6 rounds of chemotherapy, with a few weeks between each, surgery, bone marrow transplant, and radiation, at a minimum. Skylar is considered stage four.
The American Cancer Society recently reported cancer patients paid nearly $4 billion in out-of-pocket costs in 2014, with individual total costs surpassing $200,000.
These are staggering numbers.
But I know that when people work together, united under a common cause, amazing things can happen. And what better cause than the love of our children.
She is a fighter. I'm asking for you to fight with us
Everything helps, even just sharing the link to this site with a friend or loved one. Donations are greatly appreciated, and being taken to offset cost of care. Her parents are serving as beneficiaries for this campaign.
I will update as we go, so that each of you might see the tremendous impact of your donation/share. Thank you so much.
