Helping a Single Mom

Hello everyone! My name is Keyonna. I’m a single mom of 7yo Alani. Most has heard her story, most have not. 

On November 29th of 2021, Alani was brutally beaten by a family member and now suffers from traumatic brain injury. As of Jan 2, 2024 she is still in the same condition, and was back hospitalized as of Nov. 30th 2023 due to a surgery. She is still in the hospital as of today. 

Since we were released from the hospital the first time (2.24.22), I have not been able to get a job. The state of Georgia constantly denies Alani receiving medical care at home, which leaves me to care for her every day with no way to work. She receives SSI, but due to not working it all goes to bills and majority of the time it is still not enough to live. I also live in a state with my family, but I do not receive much help from them either. In order for me to work and continue to be able to provide for myself, I would have to pay a home care nurse out of pocket or leave the state. I cannot afford to do either until I am able to get a job (which I need a nurse to do). We were told by multiple nurses and a couple social workers that we may have to leave GA in order to get the correct assistance we need.
