Let’s help Andrew Farrand & his family beat Cancer
Andrew Farrand, a grade three student at Tecumseh Vista Academy was tragically diagnosed with Leukemia on May 1, 2019 at the age of 9. After going to the hospital with flu like symptoms, it was discovered that Andrew has AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) an aggressive blood cancer.
The Farrand family, affectionately known as the Farrand5 needs your support!
Dad, Jason is a long time employee of Centerline in LaSalle, and does tile work on his days off to provide for his family of five. Stacey is the ultimate Mom working part time as a PSA and keeping their busy life moving at top speed. Older siblings Caitlyn, age 11 & Chase, age 13 had their world turned upside down when they learned their brother Andrew was transported from Windsor Regional Hospital to London’s Victoria Children’s Hospital. With dad away on a business trip in Brazil this was very scary news for them to hear.
Needless to say it’s been difficult for this close knit family to be apart. Luckily their family in Belle River have welcomed Chase & Caitlyn into their home while Andrew is undergoing treatment. Doctors in London started Andrew on chemotherapy right away. It is anticipated that Andrew and his parents will need to spend the next six months, potentially longer living in London while Andrew fights this cancer.
Andrew has been very active in his community playing soccer with the McAuliffe park league in Tecumseh, Hockey in the Canadian Tire First Shift program and bowling with his siblings in the Forest Glade Optimist League. He normally has this spark of energy that is larger then life. Andrew loves playing basketball with his dad and making people laugh. Anytime you see his mischievous grin, laughter is not far behind.
With Jason unable to work, this family needs your support. Any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated!
The costs incurred when this frightening cancer strikes a family can be debilitating. But together, we can make a huge difference for Andrew and his family by donating today. Your donations will help offset the costs of accommodations, food, travelling back and forth from Windsor to London and time off work.
Family and friends have all asked what they can do to help. You can help Andrew today, by donating blood and making a donation to help support the Farrand family in this journey.
