McGinnis Family Expenses
Hi My name is Michelle McGinnis this gofundme was originally started to raise money for my husband and father of my children treatment that wasn't covered under OHIP. He has since passed away on December 27th ( his story is in the updates). He did not have insurance of any kind and the expenses after someone dies can be large when you don't have anything prepared a head of time. So I am asking for a little help getting his finances settled and pay for a plot to lay his ashes to rest. I want to insure that our children have a place to go to lay flowers when they miss him as I know they do already. I can't ease their pain but I would like to provide them and I a place to mourn so we can carry on with our lives.
Hello, me (Maygan) and my family started this go fund me to raise money for my dad, Chris.
My dad is a 45 year old with three loving children and an adoring wife. He was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer after battling cancer for almost this whole year. My dad first got diagnosed with esophageal cancer in January a week after his mother/ my grandma passed away from recurrence of ovarian cancer that spread to her liver. All my family wants is for my dad to get as long and as much out of life as he can. We want him to see my high school graduation, my brother get into the OPP, his oldest daughter graduate university, it would be a miracle if he got to walk me down the aisle but that might be pushing it. To try and make as many things possible we have been in contact with a naturopathic oncologist who will work in combination with his current oncologist. But it is not covered. My Dad hasn’t worked enough to receive disability so we probably won’t be able to afford the treatments. The reason my dad hasn’t worked enough is because he stayed home to take care of me and my brother when we were young , he took care of my Grandpa when he developed dementia and my Grandma when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. This means the government will deny us disability, who knew it was possible to be denied terminal disability. So we are asking for help to make our hopes and dreams possible. I have a good feeling about this treatment and would really like to give my dad every chance possible.
My Dad is not perfect and has made mistakes but to me he will always be the best dad, please help us make these dreams a reality.
