In Memoriam: Gary J. Parker
Thank you for your thoughtful gift to the maintenance of the Nettle Creek Friends Cemetery in memory of Gary.
In addition to being the site of Gary's burial and Tawni & Michael's wedding, the historic building and grounds hold a very special place in our family's heart. Many of our ancestors have been laid to rest in this beautiful and peaceful area.
A little history ... The cemetery was established in the early 1800s with a donation of ground from William Beeson (one of Angie's ancestors). The earliest grave is from 1814. The church was built in 1860, and is the oldest Friends meetinghouse in Indiana. The congregation stopped meeting in the 1990s, and now the cemetery relies on donations for ongoing maintenance.
Thank you for helping our family preserve this hallowed ground. We are touched that you would help us ensure its future for Gary and all the others who rest here.
Thank you,
The Parker Family
