For The Love of Levi
My name is Melissa Rokuski & I am raising funds for our grandson Levi. Levi was diagnosed with autism when he was a little over 2 years old. Hunter, Levi’s little brother came into the world right about then as well. The amazing thing is that little brother Hunter might be able to help big brother Levi.
After doing much research by the family, we found that Duke University in North Carolina is doing and continues to do research and clinical studies on a possible new treatment for autism. Cord blood in the umbilical cord contains stem cells which may help in the healing of autism. When Hunter was born his umbilical cord blood was then saved to a cord blood bank. We are trying to raise $ for the treatment Levi will receive. The treatment is a ONE TIME infusion of Hunter's cord blood stem cells into Levi's body. It is an experimental treatment, but with faith in The Lord God Almighty ( Luke 1:37 " For nothing will be impossible with God." ) , prayer and the people at Duke University we are all hopeful it will help him! Imagine the thousands and thousands of other children with autism this could possibly help!
As of right now Dad & Mom ( Todd and Sarah) are waiting to hear back from their insurance to see if it will cover any aspect of this treatment. The cost for a ONE TIME infusion is $15,000.00, so this is why I choose this amount. We are hoping to NOT have to raise the total amount if the insurance picks up some of the cost. Levi will have to fly or drive with a parent to North Carolina where the treatment will be administered.
If you find it in your heart to give to help we are and will be eternally grateful ! Thank you for your time in reading this and we will post any updates here as time goes on. To God be The Glory !
