Domestic Violence Survivor

I am a new mother that had to quickly relocate because of domestic violence. I had a brand new home for me and my baby boy but my abuser kept breaking in and standing over top of me and my son as I was sleeping threatening my life. I called the police, got a restraining order, and full custody but I am still here alone trying to pick up the pieces. Even with a protective order I no longer felt safe living in my own home so I was forced to break my lease and leave everything behind with a 1 month old baby and become homeless.

I reached out to my family to support me and they let me stay for 3 weeks then told me that me and my baby had to go. We then moved into a motel where I quickly began to run out of the little bit of savings that I did have. I decided I wanted a brand new start for me and my son so I got on a plane and moved out of state. I was able to secure a brand new home dipping into the last bit of savings I had left between buying food and paying for motels. 

Now I am actively looking for employment during Co-Vid which is tough so that I can become more stable to pay my rent, take care of my son, and not be without a home again.
