Ref a game for Stanley (updated 7/15/24)

If you are reading this, you probably know Stanley Akum is a soccer referee. and that officiating soccer is his primary source of income. Recently. Stanley was diagnosed with throat cancer for which he is currently receiving chemotherapy and will soon be undergoing radiation treatment.

Stanley is maintaining good spirits but the treatments have impacted his physical condition. Needless to say, he will not be able to get out on a pitch for some months to come. Fortunately, he is on Medical Assistance which is covering a large portion of his medical expenses. But he doesn't have a nest egg to cover living expenses such as rent, food, car expenses (gas, maintenance, insurance), internet and cell phone. And also medical expenses not covered by Medicaid.

My name is Stephen Muscanto, also a referee. Stanley and I met on a soccer field and have been friends for more than a decade. He has helped me improve as a referee and I have helped him keep his car running. Along with the team members shown below, I wanted to start this GoFundMe campaign so Stanley can focus on overcoming this blow to his well-being and not worry about his next meal or worst case, becoming homeless.
